Linguistics Major: Goals

We expect that undergraduates with a major in linguistics should be able to:

a. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the fields of phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics and be able to analyze data in all of these areas.

b. Apply their linguistic training without prejudice, as expected in any science.

c. Apply their analytical abilities beyond the study of linguistics.
